Paperchase Sale! My Top Picks

It is safe to say, I love stationary. Always have. Always will. Like makeup, I do not mind spending a little extra money on stationary because it is just one of those things that make me happy. Paperchase has always been one of my favourite stationary brands and I am yet to be disappointed.

Due to being 17 and not having a job (I'm working on that I promise!!) I do not have a huge sum of money to spend on a monthly basis (probably a good thing lets be honest here...) and so it is during the sales that I go crazy.

With it being after christmas and the festive season leaving me skint... no joke... I thought I would share with you my top 5 notebook picks from this Paperchase sale. Some of which will make it to my own basket I am sure! Ha ha.

Couch To 5K - W1/D2

Hey Guys!

Welcome back to my C25K updates. I went on my second run yesterday with Sarah. We took a different route today and set off earlier (around 3pm). It was raining, but it wasn't as cold. I have to say, I think it was easier! And we weren't on flat ground either!

This run consisted of the 5 minute warmup, 1 minute run and 1 minute 30 second rest 8 times instead of 6, followed by a 5 minute cooldown. Already, it has been made harder however, I think it was easier.

That is all there is to update you on really aha. It is an extra £1 in my money jar!

Hope you are all sticking to your New Year's Resolutions ;-)

My Favourite Internet Influencers

Seeing as I am new to owning a blog, I thought I would share with you the inspiration that has led me to this decision. I have been a lover for social media since it all started really, and I have watched as gradually over time, all the platforms have evolved and users gain more and more of a following. I thought I would share with you my top 5 influencers from some of my favourite social media platforms and why I love them so much.

*Disclaimer! I do not own any of these images*

S N A P C H A T

Snapchat is a wonderful place. I use it to interact with my friends and watch both my friends and 'famous' people's stories. I spend a LOT of time on snapchat which is one thing I need to cut down on this year, but here are my top 5!

(In no particular order)
Maeve Madden
- maeve_madden-

Maeve is a fitness lover/personal trainer who also models, from Ireland. Although currently living in London, Maeve has spent a lot of time back 'home' in Ireland (I am assuming Northern Ireland from her accent which is awesome because I am part N. Irish!) for the festive season. I love Maeve because she is so real with her followers and is an amazing inspiration. One thing I would LOVE to see from Maeve, is how she achieves those huge curls! I love them (and her!!)

Joanne Larby AKA The Makeup Fairy
- themakeupfairy -

Joanne Larby is one of Irelands biggest bloggers and is such an inspiration! I don't want to get into her story too much because not only is it featured in her blog, but also in her BOOK FairyTales (which I own and love). This woman is such an amazing Girl Boss and her fitness transformation over the past year has been incredible to witness. Again, I love how real Joanne is on Snapchat and how you really feel like one of her friends. Something I love that Joanne has already implemented this year is how involved she now is with her following. She now keeps her snaps 'open' during the working day and personally I have found it much easier to interact with her. Love Love Love

Anna Saccone Joly
- asacconejoly -

Where do I even begin with Anna... I adore Anna and her family so much and have done for the past six almost seven years. If you didn't know already, Anna and her husband Jonathan, daily vlog over on YouTube. On Snapchat, Anna graces us with (more) little insights into her and her families life. It is often more of the kids or the dogs and other little funny moments that occur after the vlogging camera has been switched off for the day.

Laura's Views
- laurasviews -

I guarantee you that this gorgeous lady is realer than your life itself! Laura is known for her love of bananas and annoying her long term boyfriend Ian (or Dean... if you know you know ;-)) I love Laura because she is finally someone of inspiration (in both the budget beauty and vegan world) that is HONEST. As much as I love bloggers, there are some that I feel would promote products that have no relevance or use in their life but if it's shocking, you can trust that Laura will tell you it is shocking and I love her for that!!

Niamh Cleary
- NCmakeup -

So unbelievably talented and lovely! Last but not least is NCmakeup. Niamh is absolutely wonderful (not only because we share the same name) but because she is incredible at what she does and is so inspirational to her following. Niamh makes it clear to people starting out in this corner of the internet that your number of followers does not matter and you need to be doing it because you love what you are sharing! Her Snapchat stories consist of her thorough makeup tutorials that are just flawless and she is doing so well. Love.

I N S T A G R A M

I think Instagram is where influencers go to express their creativity and appear to have their lives set out and being almost perfect. We all love to feel great and a aesthetically pleasing Instagram feed is the perfect thing to have to make yourself feel better. This contrasts to Snapchat where people can be 'real' and not feel judged (as much, I guess.) That being said, love Instagram and more importantly, love the people who allow me to have an insight into their life on there! Here are my top 5!

 (In no particular order)

Kristyn Cole
- krisyncole -

This beautiful momma shares her life with her partner and her toddler. She also shares her decorating and I just love her feed so much. Again, love how real she is and how 'normal' she is. I feel like social media has become a place where people make their lives appear 'better' for lack of a better word and this makes others feel as though their life isn't as good. The reality is though, these people generally only show the highlights. You have to remember that nobody is perfect.

Huda Beauty
- hudabeauty -

If you have Instagram then you will have heard of/ seen Huda Beauty. She is known for naturally looking like one of the Kardshian sisters and being so wonderful and sweet and lets not forget being fantastic at what she does! Huda promotes different beauty and makeup hacks both high end and budget friendly and always looks incredible. One thing that I admire about Huda is how she promotes smaller accounts and helps them grow their following from hers.

Tammy Hembrow
- tammyhembrow -

Tammy is wonderful. Sheer goals. Tammy and Reece have managed to use Instagram in order to make ANYONE want to grow up and have kids. They appear to live the cutest life and post regularly of either themselves, fitness, their kids or their possessions and I am not gonna lie, I wouldn't mind living like them haha. They're so cute!!

Maeve (Pretty Princess)
 - prettyprincess_fitness -

I discovered Maeve through Joanne Larby when they went to Ibiza in summer 2016 and have been a loyal follower since. Maeve is another one of those inspirations who jumped onto the healthy bandwagon and her transformation pictures and meal prep photos etc keep me motivated to carry on. Maeve is also an MUA and looks amazing ALL THE TIME! Still need someone to explain to me how that is fair...

Joanne Larby (The Makeup Fairy)
- makeupfairypro -

How could I not include Joanne *heart eyes emoji*. Love, love, love this woman. Her Instagram is so up to date with selfies, gym updates, fashion and she interacts with all her followers. Perfection. Joanne's life appears so put together on her Instagram and then she shows the 'behind the scenes' reality on her snapchat (although still pretty perfect ;-)) She is so lovely and generous and holds weekly giveaways including so many lovely products. I am yet to win one haha. Recently, Joanne has released her own set of makeup brushes (which believe me I would have if the budget stretched that far! haha) and her Instagram feed just increases in quality and remains so interesting!

And that is it my friends! I was going to include my top 5 YouTubers and Blogs on here but I think I will write a separate post on them. I hope you enjoyed seeing who makes social media interesting for me, I really think you should go and give them a follow if you don't already and I'll see you soon. :-)

Couch To 5K - W1/D1

I did it! I have committed! I went on my first C25K run with my friend Sarah last night and I felt so much better after it. Sarah met me at my house at 6:30pm and we ran around my village following the C25K app's instructions. We bumped into more joggers than I thought we would, all geared up with head torches and hi vis jackets which of course, we didn't have.

Due to my kickboxing, my fitness level is quite high (thank gosh) and so this first run wasn't too difficult for me. That being said, it was probably only easy due to the sheer lack of running we did and how much walking we did instead. We were meant to be walking, I promise. The programme is designed for people with a lower fitness level at the end of the day to gradually take anyone from couch to 5k.

So the first run lasted 25 minutes with a 5 minute warm up (brisk walk) followed by 1 minute run and 1 minute 30 second walk six times, ending with a 5 minute walk cool down.

It was a very cold night and we were out in -1 degree celsius weather. It was very easy to give in however, we stuck to it and I am feeling so much better that I have done it. We have decided to run again on Friday but tonight I am at kickboxing, so I am definitely keeping active :)

In conjunction with keeping active I have implementing something new into my diet. Generally, I am known by my ability to eat and the sheer mass of what I eat. But, I have decided to now stop eating at the first signs of feeling full. It doesn't matter how delicious my meal is, when i begin to feel full I will stop eating. This should hopefully lead to a decrease in my portion sizes which believe me are very large ha ha. I give full credit to MsGoldgirl on YouTube who explained that she lost weight through this (and other factors) in her NYE GRWM video.

Thank you for reading, I hope you are having a brilliant New Year and are making the most out of your time

'New Year, New Me' - Couch To 5k and Rewarding Yourself!

Hey Guys, long time no post...

I would like the begin by wishing you all a happy new year! I did have plans to post very frequently throughout December however, I managed to get caught up in all the festivities and here we are now... on the 4th of January 2017. It was only really today that I have gotten back into the swing of things since Christmas... shocking I know. For one reason or another I just feel like the festive season this year (or should I said last year ha) have lasted so much longer and it really doesn't feel like we are in a new year. Am I the only one? Probably. In previous years I have been so motivated and ready for the new year, with a long list of new goals that I would hope to achieve that year, even though I do feel like every day is a fresh start, not just a new year. However, this year, as much as I am happy to see the back of 2016, I haven't given anything much thought.

Every year, people set out the same unrealistic goals that have flown so far out of the window by January you'll need to be riding a flying pig to achieve them. But there is something about 2017 which seems to have motivated everyone on social media to strive for one thing. A healthy lifestyle. I have seen post after post on Instagram of people who have made the switch to a healthier lifestyle throughout 2016 and their transformations are incredible. That number of posts has appeared to double since New Years Day (well the day after really, lets be real) and people seem so driven from everyone else progress and I do think most people will keep going.

That being said, not to toot my own horn or anything but I am pretty fit. I eat a well balanced diet, with plenty of indulgancies  and burn off what I consume. I don't do any 'extra exercise' when I have eaten an extra chocolate bar or forcefully eat more when I have been exercising for longer. I eat what I want, and exercise regularly. Twice a week, I attend a kickboxing class that is local to me. I absolutely love it. It is only small and the whole club are so close and we are always helping one another and coming together. We are actually a little family and some of my friends tell me how admirable our little 'community' is from an outsiders perspective, ha ha. On the other hand though, we do work. We sweat. A lot. Granted some more than others but we do manage to steam the mirrors up in the room which is more often than not colder than outside!

Enough about that, my point is, with a fight team and gradings to work towards, the sport involves hard work and effort twice a week (2 x 2 hour sessions). Boxing is popular sport to get into in order to keep fit and many celebrities, including Victoria's Secret Angels enjoy it.

I love kickboxing, but I would like to take on something else on the side that isn't as intense and doesn't take up too much time due to my busy life. That is why I have decided to take on Couch To 5K this year.

C25K is an NHS programme which lasts for 8 weeks (3 days a week) which will gradually build you up to running a fun 5k without stopping. It is a free programme and is something you can do with a friend!

I intend to be running Mondays, Wednesdays and either Fridays or Saturdays in conjunction with my kickboxing on Tuesdays and Thursdays and odd trips to the local gym on the weekends. Taking on the C25k I would love to do a Tough Mudder either later on this year or perhaps next year. The Tough Mudder gives me another motivational platform to continue running once the C25K is over alongside the vision in my mind of how I would like to look.

In order to reward myself at the end of the year, overtime I train, I am going to put £1 in a jar and by the end of the year, I should have a nice lump of money that I can then use to treat myself as a reward for my hard work!

So, I encourage you to chose one thing that you would like to achieve this year and really plan on what you are going to do, how you are going to do it, how you are going to motivate yourself to keep going and finally how you are going to reward yourself at the end of the year!!

Thank Goodness For Half Days!

Okay I have accepted it now. I am ill. I have had a cold since Sunday but I have been in denial about it and carried on with my daily antics as if everything was fine. However, today alongside the tiredness, blocked nose, tickling cough and pounding headache; I have been going through phases of shivering, then sweating then feeling sick! I have no idea what is wrong with me but I have definitely slowed down today in hopes I will be 100% again for the weekend.

I have really missed blogging. I have had various blogs in the past (none of which still exist) and I had found it to be very peaceful and a great way to de stress which believe me is a necessary thing to practice in my life!

Thank goodness on a Wednesday I finish sixth form at 12:30pm other wise I think I would have actually taken my mums advice and stayed in bed. My mum picked me up 'just this once' today because I am ill and so we went to McDonald's on the way home which was probably not the best idea ever.

Normally, I would go to the gym on a Wednesday after sixth form but I really couldn't face it. Instead, I came home and decided to re start my blog and do absolutely no revision whatsoever for my assessment week next week (sorry in advance future Niamh if this completely ruined your life) - I did however, catch up entirely on all my outstanding homework AND decorated my bedroom for christmas (after a month of trying to persuade my parents that decorating in November isnt too early!) so I wasn't exactly 'unproductive' per say.

I have no real plan for where this blog will go, what I will post and when. I am just going to go with the flow and do whatever I want.

I hope you enjoy reading and I'll see you next time :-)

(Above) This was me on Saturday

(Right) This was a very different looking me on Saturday night, yes I am in my onesie... don't judge me!
Here is a quick look at some of my favourite areas of my bedroom currently before I go and spend my entire paycheque on more decorations!!
